Wheel of Fortune producers are re-editing a month of already taped Season 44 episodes to cut announcer Jim Thornton and drop in a replacement. Police Met American Airlines Flight 1276

The public record of the May trip is short, and Sony has not filled it in. American Airlines said that on May 14, Flight 1276 “was met by law enforcement upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport following concerns reported by a customer onboard.” The airline did not name the passenger in that statement.

People with knowledge of the flight have said a fellow traveler complained to a flight attendant about Thornton, and that the pilot asked officers to meet him at the gate. He was wearing a Wheel of Fortune jacket. Officers questioned him and let him leave. Sony has not confirmed that this trip is the basis of its review, and it has not described the passenger’s complaint.
