UberEATS launched in India with operations starting from Mumbai

Uber India launched their food delivery service, UberEats service in India today. The service will initially be available in Mumbai, Maharastra. Uber said they have plans to expand their reach of UberEats in India to six more cities by the end of the year. The City names are not yet revealed. But look like they will hit the top metros including Bengaluru, Delhi followed by Pune and Chennai too. Mumbai is definitely a good choice for UberEat since it has more than 20 million population and one of the most grown parts of India.

Bhavik Rathod, Head of UberEats India, in a statement, said, “Mumbai is home to a booming food industry with a vibrant food culture offering both global and local cuisines. The introduction of UberEat in India, with Mumbai as the first city, is a major step in our global expansion and showcases our commitment to the region.”

The food delivery app will face major competition against viral food delivery options like FoodPanda, Swiggy, FreshMenu etc. UberEat was first featured in January this year. When Uber announced to launched their food App in 78 cities across 26 countries.
